Geneva is one of the most important cities in Switzerland, not to mention one of the most luxurious and attractive tourist destinations in Europe. It is also the scene of numerous economic, worldly, and sporting events. A trip to Geneva is definitely an opportunity you can’t afford to miss.
Don’t miss
The River Rhône and Lake Geneva
You can’t help but start your visit to Geneva with a nice walk along the Rhone River and Lake Geneva (or Leman), whose waters flow through the city. At the confluence of the river and the lake is the Jet d’eau, a breath-taking fountain created by a powerful jet of water, visible even from a distance.
United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG)
Then you can visit the United Nations Office, taking advantage of the guided tour through the building’s main conference rooms, to the Council Room. At the exit you can also visit the headquarters of the Red Cross, whose building is located right in front of it.
Patek Philippe Museum
In a city like Geneva, with such a long watch-making tradition, you can’t miss the opportunity to visit the Patek Philippe Museum, dedicated to watches and precision tools in general, where you can discover the history and evolution of a very valuable artisanal art.
The Motor Show
Among the flagship events in Geneva, we have to mention the Motor Show, which takes place in the French-speaking city every March, hosting one of the world’s largest motoring exhibitions that attracts thousands of spectators.
Geneva Open
If, on the other hand, you like tennis, then you can watch one of the city’s top sporting events, the Geneva Open in May, so you can see matches between the best players in the world.
